The Paediatric Department of Port Dickson Hospital exists as an excellent unit that provides paediatric care and healthcare services based on professional, efficient, and caring services in a friendly and harmonious atmosphere to achieve early and maximum recovery for children and neonates receiving treatment.

The Paediatric Department has a mission to ensure that children who receive treatment in this department receive safe, effective and high-quality treatment and care either as patients in the ward or as outpatients. The department also continues to provide adequate and effective training programmes to paramedics to enhance their knowledge and skills to achieve an optimal level of treatment.

• To ensure that the rate of patient readmission to the ward within less than 48 hours with the same diagnosis does not exceed 0.5% of the total number of discharged patients.
• To ensure 100% safe and accurate medication administration to patients in accordance with established procedures.
• To ensure 100% fall risk screening for every paediatric patient admission in order to maintain the incidence of patient falls below the department’s tolerance threshold.
